SHNOO AND I
Shnoo and I, a series of self-portraits, humorously toys with the concept of family and how we make our emotional connections visible. Posing with her dog Shnoo, Karady is wearing garments created to resemble Shnoo’s physical attributes, in order to reveal their emotional connection visually.
One of the ways that people display their interconnectedness is through clothing, wearing a kind of uniform to signify membership in a particular group. For instance, families wear matching outfits for special occasions or for a formal portrait session. Photography itself is another common method: group snapshots serve as proof of a populated and therefore complete existence.
